I failed to open an earlier project file. What can I do?
As to this problem, there are many factors that would cause it. Please refer to the following to check it first:
1.Just let you know that the project from 2.x can't be loaded into V 3.x because significant modifications could be made in V 3.x.
2.After checking them as above but no avail, please send us your latest log files for our further investigation, which are located in Wondershare Movie Story installation folder. By default, the path is C:/Program Files/Wondershare/Wondershare Movie Story/Log.
Why are there red crosses over my imported photos or videos when opening the saved project?
If you happened to remove or delete the photo/video folder, where the original files resided, red crosses will display to remind you of the unavailable photos/video. When open a saved project, the program will access the photos/video from the original file path automatically by default. If it can't be detected, there will be a cross instead of the no longer existed photos/video.
How to add a blank slide to the slideshow?
Blank slide sometimes is useful to make something like introduction or credit. You can create a blank slide, and then add the text to the blank slide. To do this, click the first button locates above the Story Board, there will be a pop-up menu, select "Add Blank Slide" from the menu to add a blank slide to the slideshow. Alternatively, right-clicking on thumbnails in Story Board or Time Line Mode to select "Insert Blank Slide" in the resulting menu could also bring up setting dialog. In the "Blank Slide" dialog box, you can also select "Customize" in the drop-down list to customize your blank slide using three colors with specified "Gradient Direction" effect. Note that the default color for both of them is black. Select another color in the color palette if you wish.
How to set thumbnail for slideshow?
Please follow these steps to set thumbnail:
1. Right click on the picture thumbnail in Story Board or Time Line Mode.
2. Select "Set as Thumbnail" from the right-click menu, the current picture will be set as the thumbnail for slideshow. You can view the result in Menu and Preview tab page or in the Slideshow Explorer after switching to the Thumbnail view method.
Why the slideshow doesn't play when I step into Preview tab and click the play button?
That is because you are playing the menu. In such case, you can press those number buttons to play relevant slideshow directly. However, if you have previously chosen the output format in Create Tab page as one of those except DVD, HD-DVD, SVCD and VCD, the slideshow 1 will be played. Also you can click other number buttons to play specified slideshow.
How to adjust the display time of transition in Wondershare Movie Story?
Insert your photos/videos at first and transition effects will be automatically and randomly inserted between slides. Then pop up the Transition Effect dialog box through clicking on the transition thumbnail where you can change duration of transition effect as well as other functions such as rotation and division of transition effect, batch processing slides, etc. Input the display time you want in the edit box, and remember to click "Apply" or "OK"to apply the result.
How to change the durations of transition or motion effects for all slides?
Click the thumbnail of transition or the pentagram on the photo/video thumbnail to bring up Transition Effect or Motion Effect dialog box, respectively. Locate the button "Apply All", then click on it and select "Apply current duration to all slides" in the resulting menu. Note that the duration of motion effect is exactly the duration of slide.
How to delete transition effect as I don't want it?
You have three ways to do what you want.
1.Right-click on photo, video and transition effect thumbnail to pop up the right menu, then select "Delete Transition" to delete selected transition effect or the transition effect that is to the right side of selected photo or video thumbnail.
2.Click the thumbnail of the transition effect to bring up the "Transition Effect" window, then key in ZERO in the text edit box or adjust the duration to ZERO through the arrow markers beside the edit box.
3.Delete All Transitions: Right-click on any photo, video and transition effect thumbnail to pop up the right menu, then select "Delete All Transitions".
Is there a limit on the number of picture per slideshow?
You can add 1024 pictures at most to a slideshow. However it's not recommended to add so many pictures to one slideshow. Alternatively, you can create more slideshows to place your pictures.
How to change the duration of all photos at one time?
you could change the duration of the photo, then apply it to all, so you don't need to change it one by one, please follow this way:
1. Add photos and music to the slideshow.
2. Click the pentagon on the thumbnail photo there will be a panel "Motion Effect" to slide out from the right side of the window.
3. Change the duration to the right time you want.
4. Click "Apply All" button then select "Apply current duration to all slides" in the resulting menu.
The duration you set will be applied to all photos after these steps.
How can I sort the order of the pictures?
For convenience, you can sort the order of pictures both under Story Board Mode or Thumbnail View Mode. Dragging and dropping picture could easily adjust picture's position in slideshow for both these two modes. Furthermore, under Thumbnail View Mode, you can also arrange the order of pictures only by selecting one of the following: date picture taken, date modified, file name and random, by which all your pictures will be sorted automatically.
Tip: Click button "Switch to Thumbnail View", which locates to the left side of zoom in/out tools in toolbar below preview window of Slideshow tab window, to enter Thumbnail View Mode.
How to remove the names shown on some slides?
If you have added some names to slides in the "Add Text" edit panel for "Edit Photo", you can cancel them by contraries. To do it, open the "Edit Photo" window by double-clicking the photo thumbnail on which there exist text names, once opened, right-click on the text names you want to delete and choose "Delete" item in the resulting menu or simply press "Delete" on your keyboard after selected desired text. The batch tool now is also available to delete the text added by Macro Text. To access the batch delete tool, please click the down arrow beside Advanced button in "Add Text" edit panel. And in the menu that appears, choose corresponding item to delete text added by the relevant Macro Text command.
